Welcome to my Music Studio for 2024!

My name is David Sismey and I have been teaching music for over 28 years, working with beginners to advanced students. I teach trumpet and all other brass instruments, and I also have extensive experience as a school band conductor. This year I will be working at Beecroft PS, Knox Prep, Normanhurst PS, Oakhill Drive PS and St Pius X College.

♫ As a teacher, I am keen to help each student develop the best technique and play with a great sound on their instrument.

♫ My studio has a positive and encouraging environment, and I hope to find repertoire that each student will enjoy playing.

♫ I also want to help my students with their band music and encourage them to make a positive contribution to their ensemble.

♫ Regular practice at home is essential in developing the necessary skills to enjoy playing any musical instrument. Some students (and their parents) want to 'play for fun’. But to really have fun and enjoy playing a musical instrument will require a commitment to regular practice at home.

♫ I have had many students prepare for AMEB exams. I do try to encourage students to sit for exams as it provides them with a goal to work towards and is a great way to measure improvement over time.
